Advertising disclosure

Internet in Town is free to use. To pay for it, we may earn money in two ways. Here is how, and the rules we hold ourselves to.

Affiliate links

Some links to internet providers may be affiliate links. If you follow one and sign up, the provider or an affiliate network may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links carry a “Check plans” label and are marked for search engines as sponsored.

Display advertising

We may show display ads served by Google. Ads are always visibly separate from our content.

What money never changes

  • The order of providers on a page, which is by the share of homes each reports covering to the FCC.
  • Whether a provider appears at all: every provider in the FCC data for a town is listed, whether or not we have any relationship with it.
  • What our guides recommend. We describe technologies and trade-offs, not paid placements.
